Local
Musical Heritage
Musically, the Pearse Street area and its environs have
an exceptional pedigree. Both Westland Studios and Windmill
Lane Studios
are a stone’s throw away. Windmill Lane features
the world famous ‘U2 Wall’, a place of pilgrimage
for international fans of Dublin’s fab four. The
city’s original New Wave venue ‘The Magnet’
was located
directly across the street. The closing scenes of the
movie ‘The Commitments’ were shot locally
on Grand Canal Quay. The Factory, a workspace and rehearsal
studio for all or Ireland’s major musical acts,
is located on nearby Barrow Street.
What the Papers Say
‘The venue proved to be perfectly complimentary
to the evening’s
entertainment in providing as much warmth in its candlelit
décor as a log cabin in Lapland’.
Irish Music Magazine.
‘The Green Room at The Holiday Inn on Pearse Street
is set to become one of the unlikeliest and most hospitable
venues in the city’.
The Irish Times.
‘...now vying with The Clarence as Ireland’s
leading music industry hotel, they could teach some
other operators a thing or two...’
Hotpress.
‘...there’s a hot spot in the kindling in
the inner city and it’s drawing punters in healthy
numbers’.
